Fragment ORV "A Tale of Two Topas" będący chyba - mimo humorystycznych akcentów - najlepszą ilustracją codziennego okrętowego funkcjonowania, od czasu Manuala TNG:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpQgsvRDg7I

Na piśmie:

[Grayson's quarters]
Kelly Grayson: Topa. You're early.
Topa: I apologize, Commander.
Kelly Grayson: No, don't apologize, it's fine. We can get a jump on the day. Come on, let's go.
[Corridor]
First up on the schedule: Daily rounds. They can be kind of boring, but a vessel this size has a lot of moving parts. Someone needs to make sure that the ship's left hand knows what the right hand is doing. That includes things like power allocation requests, status updates, and most importantly, basic morale. They like to know you're paying attention.
Alien lieutenant: Good morning, Commander.
Kelly Grayson: Good morning, Lieutenant. [To Topa] Also, with so many different species working on the same ship, the occasional culture clash is inevitable, and all those headaches fall under the purview of the First Officer.
[Armory]
Biggins: [to subordinate] All right, thanks. [To Grayson] Commander. Thanks for coming by.
Kelly Grayson: No problem, Biggins, what's up?
Biggins: That.
Kelly Grayson: Oh. Yeah.
Biggins: I've never worked with a Belkarian officer, but Commander Keyali told us to be prepared.
Kelly Grayson: Well, we wouldn't be the first to have to navigate it. Did you talk to him?
Biggins: He insists he's within his rights.
Kelly Grayson: Hey. Lieutenant Bolobar?
Bolobar: Ensign Bolobar, sir.
Kelly Grayson: Ensign, right. I couldn't remember without the, uh... shoulders. Which is a good segue, actually. I'm gonna have to ask you to put on a uniform.
Bolobar: In the Belkarian faith, to wear clothing on the first day of the month is considered an affront to the work of the Spirit Lord. I have explained this to Lieutenant Biggins.
Kelly Grayson: Yeah, I heard. Ensign, you must know a uniform is a basic requirement for service in the fleet.
Bolobar: What about Lieutenant Unk in engineering? He does not wear a uniform.
Kelly Grayson: Unk is half the size of a shuttle craft. He'd have to wear a tent.
Bolobar: The Union is supposed to respect all cultural traditions.
Kelly Grayson: True, but that works both ways. Look, I don't want to disrespect your religion, but maybe there's a sensible compromise between your faith and Union protocol that would satisfy everyone involved.
Bolobar: What do you suggest?
Kelly Grayson: Put some pants on, and we'll call it a day.
Bolobar: Very well, Commander.
[Engineering]
Yaphit: Hey, Commander, sir. Top of the morning.
Kelly Grayson: Hi, Yaphit.
John LaMarr: Commander, I'm glad you're here. We're gonna need clearance for an extra 15% power allocation to purge the neutron filters in the dysonium matrix this afternoon.
Kelly Grayson: No problem. By the way, hope you don't mind, Topa's shadowing me for a couple days. Little pre-prep for the Union Point entrance exam.
John LaMarr: Aw, for real?
Jenny Turco: Wow, Topa, that's really cool.
Brosk: [speaks alien language]
Topa: I believe I would like to do what Commander Grayson does.
Kelly Grayson: I haven't told him how much day drinking that requires.
Yaphit: Ha, ha! Good one, Commander. Hey, I just want you to know we always enjoy your visits down here.
Kelly Grayson: Thanks, Yaphit. [To Topa] Just for your own education, that's called ass kissing.
Topa: "Ass kissing." Will it be on the entrance exam?
Kelly Grayson: No, it won't be. I know a lot of this seems pretty dull, but Union service is as much about mundane busy work as it is about adventure.

Wysoce emocjonalna (sądzę, że ten płacz Talli i G.R. mógłby zaakceptować, jako wynikający z b. nietypowej sytuacji) z ORV "Deflectors":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azbaBsAGJTQ

Na piśmie:

Klyden: Lieutenant, I wanted to thank you for what you did. Bortus told me to put my faith in you. He was correct.
Lt. Talla Keyali: I was just doing my job.
Klyden: If you had not done your job, I would have gone to prison. I owe you a debt.
Lt. Talla Keyali: You want to repay me, here's how. When you see me in the corridor, walk the other way.
Klyden: I do not understand.
Lt. Talla Keyali: Locar didn't hurt you. He didn't hurt anyone. All he wanted was love. And yet, because of you, his life is over, for no reason except your own prejudice. [getting emotional] So as far as I'm concerned, you can go straight to Hell.

Jeszcze jedna godna uwagi scena z ORV "Lasting Impressions":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECDqzzr4BlI

Na piśmie:

Lt. Gordon Malloy: Come in.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: Hey. Ed told me what happened.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: It's all right here in the phone data. He was the one that encouraged her to sing. Helped her believe that she was good enough to do what she loved.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: Watch this.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: Huh?
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: You see it? I can cross one eye at a time.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: So what?
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: Ed taught me how to do that. It is a characteristic of Kelly Grayson that exists only because of my relationship with him. No Ed, no eye trick.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: That's a hell of a romantic legacy.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: Now, imagine the reverse. If someone went and deleted Ed from my life.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: No captain's chair, no Orville.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: For any of us. Humans are social animals. When we're born, we're a blank slate, and over the course of our lives, we expand and grow as a result of external stimuli.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: Pretty dry philosophy.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: It sounds it, but it's not. Every single one of us is shaped by the totality of our relationships. People we love and people we hate all make their mark. Whether we like it or not, it's who we are; it's reality. You can't just pick and choose which parts of your past you want to change and be able to know how it's all gonna turn out.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: What if I never meet anybody else who makes me feel like she does?
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: I can't answer that. What I can tell you for sure is the second you started editing her world, it became unreal. Just another simulation written by Gordon Malloy.
Lt. Gordon Malloy: God, I'm gonna miss her. So much.
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson: People have been living and dying for as long as humans have existed. Most are forgotten but not this one. She reached across four centuries and got a guy to fall in love. We should all be so rare.
